“Don’t Tell Me to ‘Just Fix It Fast’ While I’m Debugging ”
One night, our app crashed during a major update.
The client called.
The manager shouted, “Why isn’t this fixed yet? Users are complaining!”
I was staring at 1000+ lines of Kotlin code trying to trace a bug.
I told him, “I need time to debug properly.”
His reply: “Just fix it fast, we don’t have time.”
So I skipped dinner. Skipped breaks. Debugged until 2 AM.
The next day, I realized something:
Working fast is good.
Working without respect for your process is chaos.
At CyberX Innovations, we fix bugs, not our team’s mental health.
Fellow devs, have you ever been pressured to rush a fix that should have taken proper time?
How did you handle it?
